What is the best value for a used shipping container?

If you have done some research about used shipping containers, then you might be familiar with the following sizes:

20' LONG X 8' WIDE X 8.6' HIGH

40' LONG X 8' WIDE X 8.6' HIGH

40' LONG X 8' WIDE X 9.6 HIGH***Called a 40' HC or 40' High Cube

45' LONG X 8' WIDE X 9.6 HIGH

I am often asked what container offers the best value. At this time, the 40' High Cube is a hands down winner. These units are the most plentiful, so tend to be in better shape. I am also seeing good quality on 45' HC containers, but there are not as many available in my market (Atlanta, GA) right now.

Another reason I can provide very good quality used steel containers, is because I have good access to cargo worthy equipment right now. Cargo worthy status is better than wind and water tight.

I don't mean to say that 20' and standard 40' are not good for storage. I am only saying the quality is best on 40' HC. I sell many, many good used 20' containers for storage.

What ever I have available at any given time changes with the market. Time of year, supply, fuel cost and other variables effect cost for me.
