How to refurbish a used shipping container for storage.

First, it is best to begin with a good used unit. I suggest a wind and water tight grade or better. This unit should have good doors, good floors and no visible holes.

Next, you will need to remove all surface rust and flaking paint. We do ours with a handheld power tool-eat your Wheaties! You may also sandblast.

After rust removal, get all old decals off. We use different methods for different decals. Some we use heat, some we grind off, some we power wash off.

Once the unit is free of rust and old decals, we acid power wash it. Good strong chemicals make all the difference.

Now that the container is clean and dry, we spot prime any bare metal (all the spots we buffed).

Last, we apply custom color, industrial enamel paint.

If you would rather spend a few days doing something else, then give us a call. We refurbish used shipping containers everyday for customers across the southeast. 20' are $2500 and 40' are $3300. Please call Addie Turner at 678-380-9980.

  2. You have shared a fantastic idea to use old shipping container. I guess, the best way to buy shipping container is to directly get in touch to the shipping companies like Sinotrans Container who sell old container at much reasonable rate. This will save good amount.
